Joe McCain Drops Out; What About John McCain and Sarah Palin?

Apparently, Joe McCain has made one gaffe too many:

Joe McCain, the brother of John McCain, "said Friday he'll withdraw from campaign activities after calling 911 to complain about traffic." McCain called 911 in Alexandria, VA, and "used an expletive to the operator and hung up."

[...]

"I feel terrible about having hurt the campaign over this incident," he said. "I won't be doing any more campaigning because of that."

Joe McCain's latest "get off my lawn!!!" moment came a couple of weeks after he called Arlington and Alexandria "Communist Country," angering many in two of the most populous parts of Virginia, not to mention the location both of John McCain's national campaign HQ as well as one of his innumerable homes.

Anyway, Joe's gone - not "Joe the Plumber" but "Joe the Candidate's Brother" - and he will be missed. Ha. But seriously, is what Joe McCain said any more worthy of getting booted off the campaign than the torrents of nastiness, craziness, idiocy and lies that have poured from the mouths of John McCain and Sarah Palin the past few weeks? In the case of Sarah Palin, it's honestly hard to think of any time she speaks and does NOT say something ignorant, hateful or crazy. Also, there's a great deal of evidence that she's hurt the campaign far worse than Joe McCain has. Does she also "feel terrible" about that?  Hmmmm.

In John McCain's case, I'd lean more towards the "crazy" category, but regardless, he's been dismal as well.  So, why aren't John McCain and Sarah Palin off the campaign as well?  I mean, I know it's late, but couldn't the Republicans find someone - I dunno, Mitt Romney or Mike Huckabee or someone - to take McCain's place?  And for VP, they can always turn to that OTHER Joe, Senator Joe Lieberman that is.   I'm sure he and his enormous ego would loooove that!

P.S. This snark has been brought to you by the bloggers of RK.  We hope you enjoyed it. :)

This definitely shows that the A#%hole gene is genetic in their family. (McGuffin - 10/25/2008 10:58:48 AM)
He has the same voice and rudeness as his brother. Anyway, don't you know that traffic jams are only for the commoners!!!

Even worse (Dave N. - 10/25/2008 11:32:17 AM)
After he received the voice mail telling him that calling 911 was for emergencies only, he called 911 again to complain about being "read the riot act". And in "Communist Country", no less...

Say It Ain't So, Joe! (BP - 10/25/2008 12:25:34 PM)
One Northern Virginia Communist dispatcher is going to chase you off the campaign trail?  McCains are made of sterner stuff than that!  These Northern Virginia Communists must be confronted from a position of strength and selfish arrogance!  Where's that good ol' McCain-style, hot-headed, arrogance when we need it?  C'mon Joe.  Keep dialing 911 until those Godless, Northern Virginia Communists bow to your will!  (Or, at least until you're arrested and held for psychiatric evaluation).

I say we call, write, and visit our local McCain headquarters, urging them to get Joe back on the campaign trail and interview circuit immediately!  If there's one thing this country desperately needs with the election only ten days away, it's another public display of even more of that good ol' McCain-style hot-headed arrogance!

I guess he has 8 times the importance right?? (Used2Bneutral - 10/26/2008 7:11:13 AM)
his house plus the seven of his brother's should give him more than 8 times the tax deductions.... I mean influence....

What a nut job. (kevinceckowski - 10/26/2008 6:11:47 PM)
Read this on RK and now Robert and I read it as well in the Post, they are a bit slow. The rest of the story, he called back the woman who left the voicemail from the 911 office and complained about her message to him.  I think they should fine him or have him do community service work. Just what other call came through at that time that was an emergency?  I for one am glad he is out of the campaign.  He was such an asset to the campaign in more ways than one.  And they say nuts don't roll far from the tree. One down one to go in my book!
