Arlington Volunteer Opportunities on Election Day

From the Arlington County Democratic Committee:

Minstrels for Barack:  Street musicians, jugglers, mimes, and so on to entertain Arlington voters standing in long lines on Election Day.  The busiest times will be morning, 7 am to 10 am and evening, from 4 pm to 7 pm, but we can schedule during the day as well.  If you are an entertainer who would like to use your talent in this way, please sign up at www.arlingtondemocrats.org

GOTV Visibility:  Several types of visibility volunteers are needed in Arlington on Election Day:

?         People to stand with big signs at high traffic areas to cheer for our candidates and encourage people to "Vote Today;" morning, 7 am to 9 am and evening, from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm; Bring your own signs!

?         People to hand out "Vote Today" flyers with poll information at metro stops and in front of hi-rise buildings; 7 am to 9 am

?         People to stand with signs to direct voters to hard-to-find polls

Poll Greeters:  People who stand outside the polls, distribute the sample ballot and other literature, encourage people to wait in line, and offer helpful information.  Shifts are at least one hour long all day, from 5:45 a.m. to 7:00 p.m., at 51 different Arlington precinct locations.  Sign-up on-line at www.arlingtondemocrats.org
