100,000 for Obama in St. Louis, 25 Times the Size of McCain's Woodbridge Rally?

Of course, that's probably not part of "Pro-America" or "Real America" or whatever, but still it's as much as 25 times larger than the expected "crowd" of 4,000 that watches John McCain today in Woodbridge as he continues his "Tour de Hate '08."

P.S. Last I checked, Woodbridge was located in Prince William County, which in turn is part of Northern Virginia - not a "real" part of Virginia according to the McCain campaign. Amazing.

UPDATE: Obama's speech is available here

We sometimes forget that there are lots of urban and suburban voters that don't vote.  If Obama has excited this group, then we may see many states, like Missouri, swing back to the Democrats.  100,000 people would have never come out to see John Kerry in St. Louis.

I am sure Obama was in Indianapolis at some point this year.  If so, I wonder what his crowds were like.  I think Missouri is possibly similar to Indiana.  Indiana has similar demographics, but is more conservative for some reason.  Yet, I think there are lot of voters there that may up their turnout figures and could swing the state to Obama as well.

No way there were 4,000 people at the McCain rally (Barbara - 10/18/2008 4:55:17 PM)
I was curious enough to drive over since it is just a couple miles from my house.  I didn't expect a traffice jam, and I was right.  The parking lots were full, but the crowd didn't look anywhere near that big.  I was on the roadway that runs in front of the plaza (so pretty close).  I didn't get out of the car but could see his bus and easily hear him speaking.  Maybe there are areas on the sides that I couldn't see, so I may be wrong but I have to think that if there were that many people the police would have blocked off the road.

Doesn't really matter.  The McCain campaign will add an extra zero to the crowd estimate anyway.

Well, to get to 100,000 they'd have to (Lowell - 10/18/2008 5:10:08 PM)
add a few zeros, it sounds like! :)
