Preparations are being made in Richmond for a rally to celebrate disgraced Navy Chaplain Gordon James Klingenschmitt’s crusade against Tim Kaine and the Virginia State Police. Because this rally will be held near the Capitol, it seems evident that the organizers will rely on the assistance of friendly Virginia legislators to pull the event off, in the same way that Del. Sam Nixon gave them access to a room in the General Assembly building so they could call Tim Kaine the Anti-Christ.

If I were a member of the legislature with any sort of intelligence I would not cast my lot with a limelight-seeking chaplain who had been kicked out of the Navy for willful disobedience, but Del. Nixon is proof that not everyone can be held to that standard.

So, assuming that Klingenschmitt’s antics are not enough to dissuade some Virginia officials from using a fabricated issue to stir up political support for their agenda, we must make sure that each of these officials is adhering closely to these Biblical principles they use to attack their enemies. Hypocritical exploitation of genuine faith should not go unchallenged.

Email your tip to Stonesandglasshouses@yahoo.com if you aware of unrighteous conduct by legislators who tend to use faith as a political weapon.  All tips will be treated anonymously.

The temptation to score political points by jumping on the Gordon Klingenschmitt bandwagon and attacking the faith of others may be too strong for some to resist, but any legislators or officials considering doing so should be ready to face questions about their own conduct as a result.
