If you have every been to a Pig Roast, 4th of July Parade, or Fundraiser for Virgil Goode - - - you'll likely see Congressman Goode gleefully handing out pencils, stickers, and infamous fans that say "I'm a fan of Congressman Virgil Goode," They may be good for keeping cool on a sunny day or fanning away pesky questions about why Virgil refuses to have a televised debate with Tom Perriell, but records show that Virgil paid (over $100,000) racist columnist Bobby May for these party favors.

This week McCain's Buchanan campaign chair, Bobby May, was dropped because of his racist column in The Voice.  It was picked up by the LATimes and a outcry against his actions came from all corners, even McCain's staff.

McCain spokeswoman Gail Gitcho made a statement that May's comments:

"Are offensive, insulting and have no place in political discourse."

"The moment the campaign learned of Mr. May's comments, we immediately removed him from his campaign position, Mr. May is no longer a part of our campaign organization."

Virgil Goode has relied heavily on Bobby May and his company, Bobby May Advertising Specialties, for bringing voters of Virginia's 5th District Virgil Goode's campaign kitsch on the campaign trail.  Some of Goode's largest expenditures have paid for: Balloons, calendars, fans, pencils, pens, stickers, and signs.

In fact, Goode has paid Bobby May close to $100,000 for campaign paraphernalia in the 5th District.
(Expenditure details are listed in the body of this post.)

In 2008, Goode paid Bobby May nearly $3,500.

In 2006, Goode paid Bobby May $39,000.

In 2004, Goode paid Bobby May $29,000.

In 2002, Goode paid Bobby May $25,000.
