For any of my fellow Virginians thinking about voting for the so-called "Marriage Amendment," you might want to read this first, before deciding what to do.  Also, on the off chance that this obnoxious amendment can be stopped before it comes to the voters, I urge every member of the General Assembly to read the powerful, moving "Living Brokeback Mountain - My Story."

[UPDATE: I've now seen Brokeback Mountain and it's one of the most emotionally powerful, heartbreaking movies I've ever seen.  And no, it's not exclusively - or even mainly - a "gay" movie.  Really, Brokeback Mountain is about love, loss, feeling trapped, beauty, ugliness, gettin' by, being trapped in a lie, societal intolerance, humanity.  Univeral truths, in other words, whoever you choose to love and however you choose to live your life.  In other words, this is a great movie that everybody should go see.  Kudos to everyone involved in this film, including amazing performances by several actors and actresses.  A must see for everyone, gay and straight.  On to the Academy Awards!]
