Rasmussen: Obama up 2 points

A much closer race than the other polls today suggest, Rasmussen has Obama up within the margin of error:

The latest Fox News/Rasmussen Reports poll in Virginia finds Barack Obama leading John McCain 50% to 48%.

This represents the third consecutive poll where Obama has held a modest lead over his opponent. In last week's Fox/Rasmussen release, Obama led 50% to 47%. Just four days prior, he held a five percentage point lead.

So this is a slight tightening from the 3-point lead and 5-point lead in the most recent Ras polls, though a 3-point overall swing since Sept. 25 could just be statistical noise.  Regardless, this race is probably as close as Rasmussen suggests -- Obama is leading but barely.  So no reason to get complacent; plenty of reasons to get even more energized.

On electoral-vote.com, VA is now light blue, which means it's weak Obama.  Not tie, not lean, but 5 points solid for Obama based on the most recent polls.  Today is the first day in what is hopefully the remainder of this campaign with it in the blue, and hopefully it will get bluer.

Florida also just became blue, and hopefully NC will be blue soon.
