McCain Allows Audience Member to Call Obama a "Terrorist"

I keep thinking that John McCain can't hit a new low, but "Sarah Barracuda" and he keep proving me wrong.  This time, as Americablog writes:

McCain was speaking today in New Mexico, doing his usual personal attack on Barack Obama, as the stock market plummeted (you can see the ticker next to McCain on the screen, an apt reminder of what McCain and his fellow Republicans represent), and McCain asked the crowd "who is Barack Obama?" Immediately you hear a supporter yell "terrorist." McCain pauses, the audience laughs, and McCain continues on, not acknowledging, not chastising, not correcting. Oh, but McCain does say in the next sentence that he's upset about all the "angry barrage of insults." Is McCain losing his mind, or just a liar?

NB It's particularly ironic calling Obama a terrorist when it's Sarah Palin's church that preaches that terrorist attacks against Israel are "God's judgment" on those awful Jews for not accepting Christ.

Are there any decent Republicans out there who will condemn this crap?  Oh, forget it, what WAS I thinking?!?

Did not McCain also call (Teddy - 10/6/2008 5:26:39 PM)
Obama a "liar" himself, referring to Obama campaign's attacks on McCain's de-regulation philosophy and Bush policies approved by McCain which Obama says created the meltdown. I thought presidential candidates were supposed to refer to each other as "skirting the truth," or some other euphemism. Good thing for McCain dueling is no longer allowed.

I have received a lengthy e-mail video from a diehard Republican proving with footnotes: 1) the de-regulation and meltdown was due to first, Cliton, and second, Obama, who encouraged Fannie Mae to broaden their lending to unqualified buyers; that 2) McCain offered legislation to forestall such unwise lending which would regulate more closely Fannie and Freddie; and 3) that the chief offender, Raines, former head of Fannie, gave thousands through Fannie to Obama's campaigns, and is now safely ensconced in Obama's inner group of advisors; ergo, vote for McCain, the honest re-regulator. This video is widely distributed, mostly through military circles.

The smears are really getting old when there is nothing but bad news (VA Breeze - 10/6/2008 5:34:34 PM)
from the financial markets.

The comments today from McSame and Failin are a new low..

McCain is just the Disneyland animatron... (FMArouet21 - 10/6/2008 7:25:41 PM)

that contains a loudspeaker for broadcasting "message Nazi" Steve Schmidt's soundbite for the day--or the hour, since it is flipped and changed so frenetically. The animatron can lurch; it can creak; it can wave; it can find its way to and (usually) from the podium; and it can produce a mummy-like rictus of a smile at inappropriate moments. But it cannot function without meticulous programming and direction. It is hard to imagine that McCain is doing much decision-making anymore. He seems utterly dependent on Schmidt to tell him what to do from day to day and from hour to hour.

If the McCain/Palin campaign continues to crash and burn as spectacularly as it has for the past two weeks, Schmidt, as McCain's key campaign navigator, deserves most of the credit for provoking and accelerating the death spiral.

I was surprised to see that McCain was in New Mexico today, for that state would be a real stretch for him this year. Today's foray will reduce his energy level for tomorrow night's debate and subtract from his much-needed prep time. He isn't real good at multi-tasking. Looking at today's polls and other political news won't enhance his mood any, either. He may not be getting a very good night's rest, even if he takes two Ambien.

Will McCain be able to keep himself under control tomorrow night? Or will he think that he can actually gain votes by thundering with righteous wrath in the "cool medium" and in the presence of an unflappable Obama? What pre-canned smear lines will Steve Schmidt have drilled into McCain for the debate? (Palin's juvenile "Say it ain't so, Joe" won't work with Obama.)

Yeah, and check this travesty out (aznew - 10/6/2008 7:29:42 PM)
During a Palin speech referencing Obama and Ayers, an audience member yelled out, "Kill him."

On the one hand, I am disgusted. On the other, I understand we are witnessing the death throes of the Republican Party, which is unlikely to survive this election in its current incantation.

Terrorist?! (gettingeducated - 10/6/2008 8:40:22 PM)
Whaat are the chances that it was a plant just to get the audience excited?

What a shame!

Vetaran where are you guys? (gettingeducated - 10/6/2008 8:45:50 PM)
Reference is made to the end of the first debate and the 'maverick' goes ' the vet know I will take care of the vets they know I have and I will' . May I ask where was he when Jim Webb sponsored GI Modernization bill went for voting? A simple search on the web indicated that McSame did not support the bill! Did I miss a beat here? Please let me know or it is not relevant for the retired vetrans.
