Registered someone over the weekend.... (Bryan Scrafford - 10/6/2008 9:50:21 AM)
... and I realized I was a little jealous that they got to cast their first ballot in such an historic election.

2004 was the first presidential election I voted in and I stood in line for two and a half hours to do so. Unfortunately, every candidate I voted for lost (John Kerry, Ken Longmeyer). I think it's a sign of how good things are going for the Democrats that every candidate I'm going to be voting for this year is leading big time in the polls.

Phew!I I am just back from Obama HQ in Blacksburg (KathyinBlacksburg - 10/6/2008 5:43:54 PM)
What a day at our local HQ!  Adam, the campaign staff, and we volunteers, worked right up to the approaching deadline registering voters.  Everyone pitched in.  Applications were sorted and packaged for the Registrar.  And then the staff was off to get the applications in on time.

Hat's off to the Bburg staff. And we'll have a bit more protection of our turnout and vote.

Special Shout out to Frank A. at NVCC (thegools - 10/6/2008 8:53:29 PM)
Frank has organized and motivated a great group of people to register people at NVCC Annandale for the last several weeks.  Their table has become a mainstay during that time and they have registered 100's of people.
Just from today, he had over 70 new registrations in hand-gathered by him and a core of dedicated volunteers and club members.  Everyone deserves credit, but Frank deserves an extra bit for the initiative, organization, and extra effort he has been putting in.
