Palin Trashes Obama for "Palling Around With Terrorists"

The New York Times reports that Sarah Palin has gone on the attack against Senator Obama, referring to an article in the New York Times about his relationship with former Weather Underground member William Ayers, and offering the conclusion that Obama is "palling around with terrorists."

Palin: Obama Palling Around With Terrorists

Aside from Palin's shocking decision to impugn the patriotism of a sitting United States Senator and candidate for this country's highest office, we see here an example of Palin's disinterest in nuance and accuracy.
The thing is, the New York Times article to which she refers does not say Obama was "palling around with Ayers."  Far from it.  The thoroughly researched article refers to a relationship which was never close, which was about working together on the same board to improve education, and which over the past few years was almost non-existent except for occasional happenstance encounters around their shared neighborhood.  Here's the article:  Obama and 60s Bomber: A Look Into Crossed Paths

Palin has shown once more just why she is totally unfit to be second in line for the leadership of this great nation.  She shows no judgment and a willingness to lie for political gain.

I'm reminded of a line (Ron1 - 10/4/2008 7:45:40 PM)
from a Loretta Lynn song -- "but I wouldn't dirty my hands on trash like you."

The campaign obviously needs to put out the truth about her lies, and surrogates should continue to take her down, but otherwise Obama and Biden should just ignore her sideshow and keep their glare focused firmly on John McCain.

I hope Obama fights back (relawson - 10/4/2008 10:46:10 PM)
I'd like to know what she was thinking when her chief of police in the metropolis of Wasilla spoke in support of her requiring rape victims to pay for their rape kits.

I think we play this game also.

Speaking of Palin and Her Ties To The Anti-American AIP (norman swingvoter - 10/5/2008 12:42:31 PM)
If you live in a glass house, you shouldn't throw stones.  Palin and her husband Todd have ties to the Alaskan Independence Party (AIP).  The founder hated America and wanted Alaska to be an independent country.  The AIP currently claims that Alaska is illegally a state and wants another vote with UN observers present (below). The AIP still has a video up saying palin was a member.  However, now it claims that is an error and actually her husband, Todd, was the member.

Discussion of having UN monitors present for the vote. -- We ask that observers from the U.N. or Switzerland be here to observe the pre-election activity as well as the actual election, as it has been much rumored that there was pressure exerted, both pro, and con, upon the voters in the remote, indigenous villages and in the cities. We ask that the United Nations set the conditions for voting status as Alaska has an undue number of Federal employees who may or may not be permanent residents. Far too many carpetbageers come to Alaska for our work and our retirement benefits, which they enjoy from afar, after their stint in Alaska is done.

Speaking of extremists (Lowell - 10/5/2008 1:01:15 PM)

That's right, "John McCain sat on the board of [a very right wing organization] the US Council for World Freedom, an ultra right wing group founded by Iran Contra figure Maj. General John K. Singlaub..."

It was affiliated with the World Anti-Communist league, the parent organization, which ADL [Anti-Defamation League] said has increasingly become a gathering place, a forum, a point of contact for extremists, racists and anti-Semites.
