Webb Reconsiders: Never a Dull Moment!

As you all know, earlier this week I reported that James Webb had decided not to run for U.S. Senate from Virginia this year. This was based on direct contact with Webb, and was information that was rock solid at the time. However, times change. Today, I met with James Webb for 3 hours, along with my colleagues Josh Chernila and Lee Diamond, and I am authorized to say the following on Webb's behalf: "Webb is definitely not out. Stay tuned for an announcement next week."

As I said in the title, "never a dull moment!"

[UPDATE:  Great comment by "thegools" over at "Not Larry Sabato":

Let me just remind you that no one (except us political junkies) are paying any attention to this race. So please give the man a break. He is considering turning his comfortable, private life upside down to represent you (& me).

That is a big decision to make, and I don't blame him if he has second thoughts or even third or forth thoughts .... especially when it is us "drafting" him not the other way around. If he makes his run official, you can be sure he'll go at it 100%.

So if you think it "bizarre" "rude" or you think some "bridges are burned," by his deliberations, I suggest you run for Senate...or get over it and give the man the time he needs. Its only Feb. 4 for Christ's sake!

Again, no one is paying attention except us....

Hear hear!]
