Released earlier today:

Barack Obama: 50 (+2 from a week ago)

The SIX polls conducted in Virginia just over the last week have Obama leading by an average of 2 points... looks like Virginia is really going to come down to the wire!

Here's a great quote (DanG - 9/29/2008 8:15:56 PM)
"Senator Obama and his allies in Congress infused unnecessary partisanship into the process. Now is not the time to fix the blame. It's time to fix the problem."
-John McCain

Thanks, John.  You're making Palin look bright.

Virginia polls (bamboo - 9/29/2008 9:11:18 PM)
Just curious: Which polling organizations have been the most accurate in polling Virginia voters in the recent past?

Our voting system (Rebecca - 9/29/2008 10:23:54 PM)
I witnessed the testing of the voting machines in Fairfax City and filed a report for the Democratic committee.

I am still concerned about our using electronic voting machines. The test had no way of detecting a "bomb" which is a program designed to kick in at a specific date and time, such as on election day.

Also, I understand that many Virginia counties are nowing purchasing optical scan machines made by Premier. Premier is the new name of the Diebold company. Even the machines purchased don't count correctly so the company has pledged to send out a "patch" to "fix" the problem shortly before the election.

I just saw an interview today with a cyber security expert who says everywhere he has found evidence of vote fraud a fundmentalist Christian was involved somewhere in the chain of custody.

He also calls our voting system a national security threat since the best hacker can get in and some may be from other countries.

Steve Spoonamoore (A Republican supporting McCain) also makes a crucial point in these interviews about the people who have been implicated in much of the election theft: "They are religious extremists." He names those who know about stolen elections, and he insists that the only way to protect this election is with paper ballots, hand-counted. This is good...but (Dan - 9/29/2008 11:02:23 PM)
Obama has a grave situation to deal with in this credit-financial-bailout crisis.  He could surmount his lead, or blow it.  This week will probably be the most important in this election.  Obama must win this week.

If he were up consistantly by 6% (thegools - 9/30/2008 12:56:57 AM)
I think I would be more sure that VA would go for Obama.

Unfortunately, I just can't shake visions of a Bradley/Wilder style election night.  This is Virginia afterall, and it was not that long ago that Wilder was elected, barely.

Actually, it WAS that long ago... (Clemgo3165 - 9/30/2008 4:11:32 PM)
19 years as of November 8th - that's an entire generation.

North v. South (jackiehva - 9/30/2008 11:08:02 AM)
That's what it will come down to.  Obama will take NOVA and McCain will take the south.  GOTV in NOVA will be crucial.

UGH (GeorgetownStudent - 10/1/2008 1:50:39 AM)
This article pisses me off so much: http://www.cnn.com/2008/POLITI...   That crappy school better not end up determining who gets VA's 13 EVs.
