Virginia "Moderate" Republicans Rob from the Poor, Give to the Rich

By the way, anyone who voted "aye" in yesterday's House vote slashing $40 billion from poor people, elderly, and students should be defeated in November.  This bill is an absolute disgrace.  As the Post says:

Women on welfare are likely to face longer hours of work, education or community service to qualify for their checks. Recipients of Medicaid can expect to face higher co-payments and deductibles, especially on expensive prescription drugs and emergency room visits for non-emergency care....College students could face higher interest rates when their banks get squeezed by the federal government...State-led efforts to force deadbeat parents to pay their child support may also have to be curtailed.

That's, frankly, completely messed up.  Democrats, for their part, "blasted the White House and Republicans for allowing states to reduce Medicaid coverage and boost fees for Medicaid programs for the poor and disabled at the same time the president is calling for making permanent tax cuts for wealthy Americans."  As well they should have.

So, who voted "aye" on this bill, which passed 216-214, largely along party lines, and after days of arm twisting on House "moderates?"  Well, let's see, how about the folowing from Virginia:

Eric Cantor (R - 7th)
JoAnn Davis (R -1st)
Tom Davis (R - 11th)
Thelma Drake (R - 2nd)
Randy Forbes (R - 4th)
Virgil Goode (R - 5th)
Bob Goodlatte (R - 6th)
Frank Wolf (R - 10th)

Every one of these heartless bastards - including those supposed "moderates" Tom "Devolites" Davis and Frank Wolf "In Sheep's Clothing" needs to be defeated.  Slashing programs for poor people while pushing to reward ExxonMobil and the richest of the rich?  Yeah, I know, that's the Republican Way.  But it's not the Virginia Way. And it's not the American Way!  Good riddance to all you, come November.  May you follow in the footsteps of Mick Staton (R), who lost Tuesday night by a 2:1 margin to Mark Herring (D) in Loudoun and western Fairfax counties.  Can you hear the drumbeat?  Dum dum dum dum dum dum dum dum dum...
