Another day, another poll

Mason-Dixon enters the fray in Virginia, showing a dead heat with McCain clinging to a 3-point lead. Comparing these results with the ABC/WaPo poll that has Obama ahead, Chuck Todd notes that each poll has a different leader in Hampton Roads, and so it "may very well be the ballgame."

Here's a recap of this week's polls....

Mason-Dixon: McCain 47 Obama 44
Rasmussen: McCain 50 Obama 48
ABC/WaPo: Obama 49 McCain 46
SurveyUSA: Obama 51 McCain 45
ARG: McCain 48 Obama 46

All over the place, though that SUSA poll looks a bit like an outlier now.  Or, of course, it could be the only right one!  Regardless, things are obviously tight in the Commonwealth.  As you can see from this chart, Pollster.com has its poll of polls shows how tight things are, with a one point McCain lead.

The WAPO-ABC poll also found that, among likely voters, Obama leads 52 to 43.

It's time to go hit some doors!

An electoral college tie (thegools - 9/24/2008 4:32:40 PM)
That is what is being predicted on Polster at the moment.  It has been that way for the last few days.   I want to see Ohio, Nevada, Florida, Virginia, NewHampshire , WV, Indiana, or NC start going over to Obama.

Whereas a tie, would still result in Obama winning, as far as I can tell, I would rather see this election be clearly decisive. This dead heat stuff stinks, but it is better than a clear McCain lead.
