Are you better off than you were eight years ago?

In the past eight years, my family's income has dropped nearly in half.  My home's value, which was gaining, has dropped like a stone.  I have spent so much time between jobs or under-employed, that I've lost track.  

I look at this wonderful land of opportunity and see such a pale reflection of where we were only eight years ago.  

Without a doubt, for my family, we were so much better off eight years ago.  It is time for a change.  Working together we can return this country to where we were.
Last Sunday, I was approached by a woman at church who had just been laid off seeking help finding a new job.  The fear in her voice was startling.  She had doubts, real and life-sized doubts, that she would find another job.  

She's not the only one.
