Republicans: Rule of Law is for Chumps

Sarah Palin and the first dude join their Republican brethren, George Bush and Dick Cheney, in treating the rule of law as being only for other people.  Like Bush and Cheney, Palin's Alaska and Wasilla governments skirted government email accounts to avoid scrutiny, fired officials citing phony reasons, used government records for political purposes, etc., and when investigated by the elected legislature, these more-moral-than-thou Republicans disregard subpoenas that would require them to truthfully answer questions.  John McCain gets into the act too, for example as he and Ms. Palin try to skirt the campaign finance laws that McCain wrote and agreed to comply with.
Why comply with inconvenient laws or subpoenas? Apparently, laws are for chumps, not Republicans.
For a party that used to campaign on a rule-of-law theme, it's stunning to see how little regard they actually have for the laws that apply to them.
Of course, this is the party of Richard Nixon.
