What a contrast to the McCain campaign, which says that the economy has been doing just great during the Bush-Cheney-DeLay-McCain years. If you prefer reality to Republican la-la land, you might want to go see Michelle Obama as she talks with people about "the real life impact eight years of a failing economy has had on working women and families."

Mrs. Obama to Host Economic Roundtable with Working Women in Richmond and Women for Obama Voter Registration Rally in Charlottesville

Chicago, IL - The Obama campaign today announced that Michelle Obama, wife of Democratic presidential nominee Senator Barack Obama, will return to Virginia this week.  On Wednesday, Mrs. Obama will host a women's economic roundtable in Richmond, followed by a Women for Obama voter registration rally in Charlottesville that afternoon.

Mrs. Obama began this series of roundtable discussions early in the primary season, to hear the real life impact eight years of a failing economy has had on working women and families. In discussions across the country, Mrs. Obama has shared her husband's plans to support working women and their families, and strengthen the middle class - including a $1,000 tax credit for working families, equal pay for equal work, and a $4,000 college tuition tax credit in exchange for community service.

In August, Mrs. Obama hosted a roundtable discussion with military spouses in Norfolk to discuss the unique challenges facing military spouses and their families.

Mrs. Obama will be joined by Lilly Ledbetter, an Alabama woman whose fight for equal pay brought her to the Supreme Court, and inspired the Lilly Ledbetter Fair Pay Act.
