"McCain Claims Palin Took No Earmarks as Alaska Governor"

Now here's the fact of the matter:

...under her leadership, the state of Alaska has requested 31 earmarks worth $197.8 million in next year's federal budget, according to the website of Sen. Ted Stevens (R-Alaska), the former chairman of the Senate Appropriations Committee.

Palin has recently been publicly critical of requests made in past years by Stevens and others for $223 million in federal funds for a bridge from Ketchikan, Alaska, to Gravina Island, calling it "the Bridge to Nowhere," a derogatory label critics attached to the project.

As a candidate for governor in 2006, she backed funding for the bridge.

John McCain: LIAR.

Just imagine if they get to the White House... (Lowell - 9/12/2008 2:05:30 PM)

Another good ad (aznew - 9/12/2008 2:49:10 PM)
It is also interesting that the taboo of actually calling a candidate a "liar" in the MSM is close to being crossed.

hell - it's been crossed (totallynext - 9/12/2008 11:19:35 PM)
I have heard numerous times in the last 3 days

Worse than Bush . . . (JPTERP - 9/12/2008 2:12:18 PM)
all politicians fudge the truth -- few of them lie so bluntly a matter of habit.

McCain is a disgrace.

What is so scary (Ingrid - 9/12/2008 3:10:56 PM)
is that McCain and Palin believe themselves.  They sound juvenile.

Un-freak-ing-believable (aznew - 9/12/2008 3:17:35 PM)
ok, this makes me sick:

Hopefully this one actually gets some airtime.

Mayors and Governors (Ingrid - 9/12/2008 4:15:24 PM)

Priceless (thegools - 9/13/2008 12:32:32 AM)

What Anchorage Daily News says (Quizzical - 9/12/2008 6:24:08 PM)
For the 2007 federal budget year, the administration of former Gov. Frank Murkowski submitted 63 earmark requests totaling $350 million, Palin's staff said. That slid to 52 earmarks valued at $256 million in Palin's first year. This year, the governor's office asked the delegation to help them land 31 earmarks valued at $197 million.

That ain't nothing.

Women (Ingrid - 9/12/2008 6:55:45 PM)
The women on The View, well, most of them, are tougher than the MSM. We should let them take over the MSM, especially Joy Behar.

Why are you so surprised? (Peninsula Pete - 9/13/2008 5:08:46 AM)
McCain-Palin can't run on issues!  They can't talk about any "plans" they have for the future, because they have none!

SO THE ONLY THING THEY CAN DO IS LIE!

What has been surprising is the total lack of media scrutiny on the lies.  Even the usual socialist MSNBC has been lax in hammering them on their daily, lies.

Palin is a total fraud!

You can tell McCain is lying because his mouth is moving.

Yet, the party sheeple will line up, repeating false rumours about Obama, even making them up as they go, and we'll be in for another 8 years of idiocy from the Karl Rove faction.

Our only hope is that the young people get registered, then show up on election.  The older generation has proven itself useless!  I say this as a 60-year old male, who has watched the Republican smear machine win many elections, not because of "issues" but because they demonized the "other" guy!  My generation bought into it.  I pray the young people won't, and that they will fight!
