We are excited to have Glenn Nye running against Thelma Drake in Hampton Roads.
Tomorrow his first ad will go on the airwaves. The campaign has made a significant ad buy and I am so excited Glenn's story is getting out there.

Here it is:

So, if you live in Hampton Roads or nearby-Help Glenn out at one of the joint campaign offices in the area by volunteering or help him out by going to http://www.glennnye.com/home and clicking on "Contribute". $5, $10, $20 all adds up so help us send this great candidate to Congress!
Thelma Drake lives right down the street from me. I'm not too crazy about her but to be honest, I'd rather run into her at the local Farm Fresh than have her screwing things up in DC.
Go Glenn Nye!!!!

Dear Friends,
I just wanted to take a moment to thank you for your support and let you know that, because of your generosity, we will be airing our first television ad tomorrow.  I also wanted to make sure that you were the first to see it and let you know that we will be hitting the airwaves before Thelma Drake with a positive message.  We are extremely proud of this positive, biographical ad that helps introduce our campaign to Hampton Roads.

You can view the ad here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v...

Thank you for your continued support...with friends like you, we are going to win in November!

Sincerely yours,

Glenn

It's been oft repeated (Silence Dogood - 9/9/2008 11:20:54 AM)
that this is the only district in Virginia where a Democratic challenger ran ahead of the top of the ticket in 2006, giving testament to Thelma Drake's continued inability to establish a solid base of support, and House and Senate seats we flipped in 2007 in Virginia Beach, Norfolk, Hampton and the Eastern Shore demonstrate how strong and effective our local democratic grassroots efforts have grown in SE Virginia.  And let's not forget: Thelma Drake withdrew her support for Sen. Jim Webb's GI Bill for the 21st Century after Bush and McCain said they didn't like it!  Not only does this heavily military, pro-veteran district deserve a represenative who will support our troops--our real leaders like Jim Webb, Mark Warner and Barack Obama deserve a partner who will consistently stand up for what's right even when it's not popular with the likes of Bush and McCain.

Please take out your wallet and make a contribution to Glenn Nye's campaign today.  If ever there was a Republican incumbent we could beat, it's this one.
