Tonight on NBC Nightly News Andrea Mitchell interviewed Bob Woodward on his research for his new book "The War Within." And from him we learn that the military leaders on the ground pre"surge" did not support the concept of a "surge." Neither did Donald Rumsfeld. Rummy was fired because of this. So was General Casey.
Now Woodward says dramatically new techinques and operations which are extremely secret have contributed to improvements on the ground and NOT the surge.
Meanwhile McCain uses every opportunity to charge that Obama has been wrong about the war and the "surge." He's a veritable broken record suggesting that Barack Obama "should admit the surge worked."
