She DIDN'T sell the plane on EBay!

Just saw on MSNBC that Sarah Palin not only didn't sell the previous Gov.'s plane on EBay, she sold it to a campaign contributor for a
LOSS, not a profit as she claims.  McSame gave a campaign speech today in which he again proclaimed that she sold the plane on EBay for a profit.  Exactly how much vetting did the McSame campaign do of Caribou Barbie?  It might not rise to the level of a "maccaca" moment but it sure is one more example of the Republican and McSame's unfitness to ride the "Straight Talk Express" any more.

That sounds criminal (relawson - 9/5/2008 8:08:31 PM)
Selling government property at a loss to a campaign contributer.  Abuse of power - clearly.

Can this be confirmed?  Can this possibly be legal?

Probably not illegal . . . (JPTERP - 9/6/2008 4:25:20 AM)
Purchase price in 2005 was for $2.7 million.  Sales price two years later was for $2.1 million.

There's a $600,000 hit, but the pricing depends on the condition of the plane and the market conditions -- sounds like it was used fairly heavily.

A quick scan on the net found other Westwood II's from 1984 that are now selling for around $2 million, so I wouldn't say that this is necessarily a sweat-heart type deal.

Still, it would have been best to have shopped the plane out of state in order to have removed even the appearance of conflict of interest.

Dishonesty (relawson - 9/6/2008 3:01:54 PM)
I guess at the end of the day, what we have here is mis-information campaign.  Much of what was initially said by Palin has now been called into question.

There is no doubt here - Palin didn't sell the plane on Ebay.  She listed it on Ebay.  That means she and John McCain lied to us.  Nothing new there.
