Palin's Daughter -- Where are the Sanctimonious Right-Wing Preachers?

One can easily imagine how right-wing preachers would decry an out-of-wedlock pregnancy in the family of a Democratic candidate, exclaiming, while pounding on their Bibles, that the pregnancy sets a "poor example" for American teenagers.  They would say that this is what can be expected from a family with "liberal" permissiveness. Well, I'm waiting to hear what the Bible thumpers say this time.

I'll bet they spin this into the abortion issue - "at least she is giving this child a chance at life" etc.  In short, the right wingers will are of course hypocrites.  It's all a part of their job description.

Democrats need to be careful on this issue.  Going after the 17 year old girl could be seen as mean.

You mean like Republicans calling Barack Obama (Lowell - 9/2/2008 11:31:23 AM)
pretty much everything under the sun?  You mean like Republicans going after Michelle Obama?  You mean like Republicans calling Hillary a "b****?"  Etc., etc.  No, two wrongs don't make a right, but these sanctimonious hypocrites need to be called out...not Palin's daughter but Palin herself. And McCain, who dumped his first wife after she was no longer beautiful because of a car accident.  What ever happened to "For better and for worse, through sickness and in health, 'til death do us part?"

I agree (relawson - 9/2/2008 11:51:24 AM)
Go after the candidates - absolutely.  Personally I think the Christian-right will eventually start going negative on Palin - and her daughter.  Strategically, let someone else do your dirty work.

I said this the moment I found out it was Palin - Wasilla is a small town.  I use to live in Anchorage and visit friends in Wasilla.  There have got to be skeletons there involving Palin herself if she is like the typical gal from Wasilla.

It's cold, dark, and depressing in the winter.  What do people do when that happens?  They do drugs, have sex, and sometimes take pictures ;-)  I know - I spent my teenage years in Alaska.  I'm not running for president - so I can be a bit open about this.  And just in case, I burned all the pictures ;-)

I will be shocked if something really dirty doesn't come out of this.  Much worse than a pregnant teenage daughter or husband's 20 year old DUI.  Or even the whole cop-gate thing.

Democracy Now reports... (relawson - 9/2/2008 1:04:50 PM)
The lady who reports for Democracy Now (a program I find leans too far left for my tastes) was the one arrested last night in Minnesota.

That was too bad - police crushing the media.

Anyways, they reported today that Palin voted against teaching safe sex in Alaskan high schools.  Ironic.
