Nate and I will be discussing and signing "Netroots Rising" at Busboys and Poets in DC on Wednesday, August 20.  Check it out!

Date: Wednesday, August 20, 2008
Time: 6:30pm - 8:00pm
Location: Busboys and Poets
Street: 2021 14th St
City/Town: Washington, DC

Here's the description of the event from Busboys and Poets.

6:30 PM - Lowell Feld and Nate Wilcox discuss and sign Netroots Rising: How a Citizen Army of Bloggers and Online Activists Is Changing American Politics. The 2006 elections will be remembered as the year when the center of power in American politics shifted from traditional "top-down" central broadcasters to new "bottom-up" decentralized activists in the blogosphere and netroots. The authors give firsthand accounts of the burgeoning power of the netroots to determine the outcome of political contests, most notably as when the national balance of power was tipped by Jim Webb's "rag-tag army" of bloggers and netroots activists who provoked and exposed the gaffe that proved fatal to George Allen's senatorial bid. Free and open to all.

For Those Of Us Who Can't Make It (norman swingvoter - 8/17/2008 10:16:26 PM)
For those of us who can't get to DC, what about trying a virtual signing on the blog.  Maybe you could put up a short video and sell a signed edition like we would get at the physical signing.

Interesting idea... (Lowell - 8/18/2008 7:29:13 AM)
...but I'm not sure about the logistics of a "virtual signing," how would that work?

Some Thoughts (norman swingvoter - 8/18/2008 4:52:24 PM)
Never heard of one so these are suggestions.  You could put up a short video or 2 covering the main points in the physical signing.  As an option you could put up some material covering the main topics from the physical signing.  Folks on the blog could post questions, comments, etc. over a time period maybe a few days.  I notice that there is a link to the book on Amazon.  You could put up some signed books to sell as collectibles on Amazon.  You would have to ship them when ordered or send a supply to Amazon and pay it to ship them when ordered.  I can see that this could get involved so it might be too much at this election time.
