UPDATE 5:07PM: As spotter points out in comments, the ad has been pulled.

Oh, wait. It actually says "hot chicks dig Obama." But you'll forgive me if I get my race-baits confused. Once again, McCain is juxtaposing Obama with lots of cute young blonde girls:

Does anyone know where else you can get this video?

Try this link via the LA Times (ub40fan - 8/12/2008 6:13:34 PM)

here's a comment (spotter - 8/12/2008 4:44:39 PM)
that probably led to it being taken down.

My daughter's cute and blonde.  Does that mean she has to vote for McCain?  Or can she just run for President, like Paris Hilton?  It's so confusing.

McSphincter says "what." (jsrutstein - 8/12/2008 5:54:56 PM)
The reason the McCan't campaign pulled it is even stupider than because of Tapper's white woman count.  Apparently, Mike Myers wasn't pleased that a Wayne's World clip was appropriated.  McCain's website tries to make Myers look like a spoilsport.  I really hate it when wingers try to steal hip cred.  Ever notice some of the lead-in music used by Limbaugh and Hannity?  It's too bad more artists don't object.

Wow. (HisRoc - 8/12/2008 5:03:47 PM)
Between this idiocy and the Wikipedia nonsense, it appears to be Amateur Hour over at the McCain Campaign.  Makes you wonder whom he would staff the West Wing with if he got elected...

Yes, except (Teddy - 8/12/2008 6:42:45 PM)
is this all a tempest in the blogger teapot? How many regular voters know, or care. If they pick up on the ad because it is picked up by corporate media in some form, do they even hear the rest of the story, and judge McCain thereby?

It's astonishing to me how a genuine, top candidate for the American presidency goes about deliberately trivializing and debasing the entire electoral process. This sort of thing, along with the ridiculous street theatre of Congressional Republicans' throwing a hissy fit in the chambers of Congress after it has adjourned, just to make points for their petro-masters, shows such contempt for the public one wonders if they realize how assinine they look. They seize control of the government, claiming government is worthless, and proceed to prove it by their incompetence once they have control. They cooperate with their Republican President by being complete rubber stamps, virtually deifying the President's executive power and debasing Congress, thus proving in another way their contempt for the system. And the public elects them? Bah! humbug!

You're right (TheGreenMiles - 8/12/2008 8:01:14 PM)
It's only a story if the corporate media picks it up, which will never happen because McCain is a straight-talking maverick who reminds them of their grandfathers if only their grandfathers were ruggedly handsome witty war heroes who might've been good presidents in like this 1994-2004 window but are now way past their primes and prone to saying things that are awkwardly inept or completely wrong.

Clearly, McCain can do no wrong.

McCain is a cold war relic waging the most vapid, negative, and shallow campaign in modern times (Shenandoah Democrat - 8/12/2008 8:47:46 PM)
We progressives need to see McCain clearly and not project how others view him. The fact is he's a spoiled preppy brat whose nickname in prep school was "McNasty". He nearly flunked out of the Naval Academy and we all know he graduated at the very bottom of his class. He abandoned his first wife in a horrible tragedy and took off with a much younger, very rich beauty queen, who has helped him financially in big ways and still refuses to disclose her taxes.
He was one of the only surviving Senators of the Keating Five scandel, one of the largest criminal conspiracies in government history.
Now he's waging one of the most vapid, negative, and shallow campaigns in modern times.
To even use the word maverick in his context is not descriptive, honest, or helpful.
The addition of the Bush-Rove anti-American sick attack dogs (and I mean they are sicko)to his campaign now means all out lies, distortion and grotesque manipulation of media to attempt a change in voters judgment.
The question is: will the American public buy into the same sick attack dog innuendo as they have in the past? Will Obama effectively respond to these gross manipulations and distortions?

The Answers (norman swingvoter - 8/12/2008 9:58:45 PM)
will the American public buy into the same sick attack dog innuendo as they have in the past? These ads are not for us but for what on the blog have politely been called the low information voters.  2-3 months of this crap with Obama portrayed as a rock star like Britney or Paris will have an effect if nothing is done. It is obvious that mccain's new strategy is to attack Obama constantly as being a celebrity rock star with little substance.

Will Obama effectively respond to these gross manipulations and distortions? He had better if he wants to win.  We have to get this election back to bush and mccain quickly.

Who Digs McCain? (hereinva - 8/12/2008 10:40:53 PM)
Answer back: "Dinosaurs dig McCain" or
"While digging for dinosaurs we found McCain"

Here ya go (Ron1 - 8/13/2008 12:36:28 AM)
Someone out there is a frickin' genius. I don't know what it says about our society that people have the time to do these types of deals, but I love it:

OMG (Pain - 8/13/2008 6:45:16 AM)

I just spat coffee through my nose.

Perfect (TheGreenMiles - 8/13/2008 7:02:35 AM)
I was waiting for the "gimme five bees for a quarter" line. One of the all-time great scenes. Awesome. You should post this as its own diary with some of your commentary and I'll promote it to the front page.

HAHAHAHA (legacyofmarshall - 8/13/2008 7:47:50 PM)
"mmmmmm... I can't wait to eat that monkey!"

Now THATs funny (hereinva - 8/13/2008 9:48:19 AM)
Good laugh.
