McCain Plagiarizes Wikipedia

Cindy McCain stealing her "family recipes" from Food Network.com is bad. But John McCain getting foreign policy advice from Wikipedia?

Looks like the McCain campaign is making great use of the Copy and Paste function on their Apple IIEs, or whatever else people "aware of the internet" use these days. Who's McCain's Secretary of State going to be? A 16 year-old kid who's flunking World History?

Here are two examples:

Wikipedia: "one of the first countries in the world to adopt Christianity as an official religion"

McCain: "one of the world's first nations to adopt Christianity as an official religion"

Wikipedia: "After the Russian Revolution of 1917, Georgia had a brief period of independence as a Democratic Republic (1918-1921), which was terminated by the Red Army invasion of Georgia. Georgia became part of the Soviet Union in 1922 and regained its independence in 1991. Early post-Soviet years was marked by a civil unrest and economic crisis."

McCain: "After a brief period of independence following the Russian revolution, the Red Army forced Georgia to join the Soviet Union in 1922. As the Soviet Union crumbled at the end of the Cold War, Georgia regained its independence in 1991, but its early years were marked by instability, corruption, and economic crises."

That would get him tossed from UVA (aznew - 8/11/2008 3:15:43 PM)
for violating the honor code.

or the Naval Academy (spotter - 8/11/2008 4:25:51 PM)

or Blue Ridge Community College, for that matter. (Cliff Garstang - 8/11/2008 7:20:14 PM)

So this is his "3am" moment? (Chris Guy - 8/11/2008 3:48:19 PM)
It's just beyond pathetic.

What's even scarier (Ron1 - 8/11/2008 4:11:30 PM)
is that the rest of his foreign policy is copy and pasted from Bill Kristol's insanity machine and also from whichever lobby shop his nearest advisor happens to hail from.

Seriously, after seeing McCain's disastrous performance in Iraq talking about 'Iranian trained al Qaeda fighters', how anyone can take this clown seriously on these matters is a devastating indictment of our establishment press.
