"Macaca": Two Years Later

It's hard to believe, but tomorrow (August 11) it will have been two years since George Allen called the Webb campaign's young, Asian-American tracker (S.R. Sidarth) "macaca."  Over the next few days, I'll probably have more to say about this incident and what it meant. In the meantime, you might want to check out the following event if you're in Arlington tomorrow.
ACTOR KAL PENN TO MEET WITH ASIAN AMERICAN ACTIVISTS ON ANNIVERSARY OF "MACACA" COMMENTS MONDAY

ARLINGTON, VA. - With the anniversary of former Republican presidential hopeful Sen. George Allen's infamous reference to an Indian American as a "macaca" on Monday, award-winning actor Kal Penn will hold a house party in Northern Virginia with Asian American leaders and activists to discuss the importance of their involvement in this year's presidential election.

Outrage among Asian Americans from Sen. Allen's comments helped propel Democrat Sen. Jim Webb's come-from-behind victory, where he won by only 7,231 votes. Penn, who stars in "The Namesake," the "Harold and Kumar" movies as well as the TV series "House," is campaigning across the country for Sen. Barack Obama's campaign.

A nice midday crowd   heard a rousing pep speech with personal story  overtones.
The south fairfax county  Obama office is nice, big and ready to go.

Everybody who wanted to have a pic with Mr Penn got to.
The pizza was good. The water and sodat was good.

I am going to replace what i drank next visit.

Now a long needed nap. Interferon therapy last year leaves me needing an occasional nap day.
