In the Martinsville-Henry County area, one of the hardest hit by the effects of bad trade agreements and the Bush administrations lack of judgement, there is a shining light. The opportunity to hear from the presumptive Democratic Presidential nominee Barack Obama's camp directly on Tuesday, August 5 at 6:30 p.m. at the Binding Time cafe. Binding time is located at 1115 Spruce St.

Does anyone wonder why the McCain camp isn't doing the same here in the Southside of Virginia?
Easy answer my friends, Obama is working for ALL Americans, and McCain is working for Big Oil and Big Business. In this 30 second sound bite "Us vs. Them" world, I'll take the candidate that is looking out for those of us belonging to the working class. I choose the candidate that looks for real solutions and not bandaids.

As a working Virginian, I choose a man that will sign the Employee Free Choice Act (EFCA)to prevent companies from intimidating employees and allows workers to empower themselves, not someone who will try and oppress those people.

For me, this is my stance on all the current political campaigns here in the Commonwealth.

I endorse Mark Warner for Senate, Tom Perriello for Congress and Barack Obama for President.

Great to hear. (Science Virginian - 8/3/2008 11:33:12 AM)
I wish they could find someplace a little bigger than Binding Time, though; that place is tiny.

I know, (Jim White - 8/3/2008 11:51:53 AM)
they should have used their office on E. Church St. Much bigger and better.

Is the Obama office... (Science Virginian - 8/3/2008 5:20:15 PM)
...in the same building as Perriello's office?

No (Jim White - 8/3/2008 6:27:26 PM)
The Obama office is across the street in the old Holt's building. They have the entire 1st floor.
