Utterly Bizarre: "Larry Byrne Law"

This is utterly bizarre, although I would expect nothing less from a Republican named "Davis."  According to Ben Tribbett (aka, "Not Larry Sabato"):

One bill that has failed to get the attention it deserves so far is the "Larry Byrne Law" introduced by Senator Jeannemarie D. Davis.  This bill would prohibit local electoral board members from being related to any candidate on the ballot.

...what really upsets me, is how unnecessarily partisan this bill is.  Why is it partisan?  There was no controversy on local electoral boards that caused a need for this bill.  However, there was a scandal with a local registrar who happens to be related to a GOP candidate, and Jeannemarie doesn't include registrars in her bill.

Can we say Willie Mae Kilgore, Scott County Registrar of Voters and close relative to...Jerry and Terry?  Hmmm.  As I said, this bill - singling out Larry Byrne, husband of Leslie Byrne - is utterly bizarre.  Are the Davises freaking out that Leslie Byrne might run against Tom or something?  Now THAT could explain it.
