Many may have heard of Mathews over the past few years.  We are the second smallest county in the Commonwealth with a Democratic Committee that will not give up.

We are the red county that elected the local Democratic Chair to the School Board.

We delivered 55.13% of the vote to now Democratic State Senator Ralph Northam - the first Democratic Candidate elected in twelve years.

This year Mathews County has the opportunity to duplicate these efforts for Mark Warner and Barack Obama.

The Mathews County Democrats would like to extend the invitation to all Virginia Democrats to come to Mathews on Saturday August 9 for our Second Annual Crab Steam.  Tickets are a steal at $25 apiece.

As an added bonus attendees will have the opportunity to hear from State Senator Ralph Northam and BOTH Democratic Candidates for Governor in 2009.

Details on the flip.
Come enjoy steamed Chesapeake Bay crabs and corn on the cob...  and good company, too!

Fried chicken is also on the menu.
Adult beverages will be available.
Tickets available at the Mathews County Visitor and Information Center or by contacting Chair, Jen Little, at littlejenlittle@aol.com.

Go Mathews! (Evan M - 7/23/2008 12:57:52 PM)
Major kudos to the Mathews County Dems for the great strides they've made in the past two years. You guys are really a model for other county committees in parts of Virginia that have seen little more than token Democratic activity in the past decade.

Keep on keeping on!

nice photoshop work, but... (ebbtide - 7/23/2008 1:03:36 PM)
Great energy from Mathews, although they might want to include the rest of Northam's district on their logo.  He represents Northampton and Accomack.

Sorry :( (Jen Little - 7/25/2008 7:55:21 AM)
I realized it as soon as the artist did it, but we were on a deadline, and it just took.   We do need to add the Shore on there.  Several of my dear friends on the Shore as well as a fabulous legislator I respect and admire.  I hate that we cut them off the map :(

I will work to fix this.

Put This Event on Your Calendar and Highlight It!!! (dsvabeachdems - 7/23/2008 2:54:32 PM)
Great food; great drink; great local people; great candidates; great fun; a gastronomical delight despite the inevitable mess.

I hope to see you there! (Jen Little - 7/25/2008 7:57:21 AM)
