Maliki's spokesman now denies he ever said such a thing.http://www.cnn.com/2008/WORLD/meast/07/19/almaliki.obama/

Another thing that needs mention. Obama keeps changing the date of eventual withdrawal.  Most recently-

In a speech in Washington on Wednesday, Obama said he would withdraw most US forces from Iraq within 16 months starting in January, 2009.

"We can safely redeploy our combat brigades at a pace that would remove them in 16 months. That would be the summer of 2010 -- two years from now, and more than seven years after the war began," he said.

He had "end of 2009" on his website policy page, and remember he said this during the Nevada debate-

(There he says the Iraqi minister talked about withdrawal in 2018 -- so much for Maliki's reliability as a policy planner)

Or was it this one?

Notice that the timeline keeps moving.

Oh yes, he denied it! (Rob - 7/20/2008 5:55:55 PM)
After the White House called and asked him to.

Oh, and if you didn't notice, March 2008 has already passed, so naturally the end of the time line has also shifted.  Obama doesn't have a freakin' time machine.
