I wanted to invite you to a community meeting on Monday (July 21). The meeting will be at the Pohick Regional Library in room 101B from 7pm - 8:30pm. I have invited a number of people from the community to join in a discussion and presentation that I will be leading for the organization I'm now working for, Working Families Win.Working Families Win, a nonprofit, nonpartisan, grassroots voter-education group sponsored by Americans for Democratic Action, is working to raise the visibility of economic justice issues among voters in Northern Virginia.
Working Families Win is bringing about change by engaging people in one of the most important but overlooked opportunities to make a difference - neighbors talking to neighbors about the issues that people care most about, in a way that will influence a very important election.
With our voices, by contacting voters in our communities with important candidate information, we are creating the democracy we will pass on to our children.
It's about changing politics, it's about restoring fairness to the economy, it's about helping people make the changes they want to make.
