Virgil Goode: PAC Man

The second quarter ended this week, and with that a flurry of new reports and press releases offering a summation of winner and losers.  Here in the 5th District, Virgil Goode seemed to suggest that he was proud of his second quarter fundraising, in particular his ability to effectively raise his money from concerned citizens of the 5th District.  Really?

Goode ole Virg is pointing fingers at his opponent Tom Perriello, criticizing him for the amount of money that he has raised from individuals who are out-of-state.  Obviously, Goode must think that his campaign is in a better fiscal position to represent the important voices and interests of citizens in his district.

You just can't help but dig through the facts of this week's FEC reports to see that while Virgil is complaining about Perriello's out-of-state individual donors, he has already assembled a laundry list of who's who corporate / special interest groups.

Who do you think Virgil's lookin' out for these days.  My money (and the nearly $200,000 raised from these corporate interests so far for his campaign) say it isn't the concerned citizens of the 5th he so proudly speak of.

Looks like Goode ole business as usual.

Corporate greed vs. common good (jsalt - 7/18/2008 10:55:37 AM)
This is video is a great way to highlight Goode's old politics of serving the corporations or Tom's new politics of serving the common good.  Kudos to whoever came up with this.
