The state of Virginia VS. Reality from Chesapeake Climate on Vimeo.

From the Chesapeake Climate Action Network (CCAN).  Do these guys rock or what?

Yesterday I stood in front of a roomful of reporters to announce that the campaign to halt construction of the Wise County plant has only just begun. Gov. Kaine and Dominion's greenhouse-gas generator is illegal and we will be filing two legal challenges in July. But we cannot win this fight without your help. This campaign has reached over 43,000 Virginians and we need every single one of you to continue to ask the tough questions and challenge our leaders to, well, lead.

Nothing does a better job of summing up this historic fight than our newest video. Learn how we're continuing to fight by watching the video here. You'll be redirected to our blog, so please take a moment to comment and let us know why you're part of this campaign.

As we head to court, the campaign to halt the Wise County plant is stronger than ever. We're proud to welcome two new partners: Physicians for Social Responsibility and Virginia Citizens Consumer Council. By representing consumers and speaking out about the health impacts from coal plants, these new partners have added critical voices to the campaign and we're looking forward to working with them as the fight continues.

Thank you for all you do,

Steve Calos
Virginia Director, CCAN

Keep up the good fight, CCAN (Kindler - 7/8/2008 9:28:25 PM)
Thanks to the brave citizens taking on the most powerful corporation in the Commonwealth.

And Governor Kaine, we love you dearly, but if you don't reverse your stance on this soon, it's gonna tarnish your legacy irreparably.

Thank you (notwaltertejada - 7/8/2008 10:51:57 PM)
for your increased coverage of environmental issues, especially this one. Raising awareness is really the only way we are going to get anything done. This evening a Greenpeace volunteer was at my door, enthusiastically trying to do something about global warming and hadn't even heard of what dominion is about to do in Wise County.
