Now that you?ve enjoyed your Independence Day weekend, it?s time to get back to work so we can deliver change in America by turning Virginia BLUE! We can?t wait until you get back from Labor Day to start organizing ourselves and talking to voters if we expect to win the Commonwealth for the first time in 44 years.
Following up on the recent Unite For Change parties, Generation Obama has partnered with 17 local young professional and other Obama/Hillary/Democratic organizations to host a DC Unity Event on Thursday, July 10 at Local 16 with former DNC Chairman Terry McAullife and Congressman Artur Davis.
These recruitment events and post-holiday time offers a great opportunity to go through your address book and call, text, email, facebook/social network and IM everyone you know to tell them to get involved ASAP if they want to change America for the better in 2009.

Join the democratic coordinated campaign in Alexandria to identify voters in the Lee District on July 12!
We will be meeting at Rose Hill Elementary School at 10 am and I pm for two different shifts. Wear comfortable shoes and bring your enthusiasm!
Since the Commonwealth does not use a party registration system, door-to-door surveys are the best way to predict a voter's level of support. This operation will help solidify a group of undecided, persuadable voters.
Face to face interaction is also the most effective method to reach registered voters at this critical early stage.
A volunteer should plan to spend about three hours for this event, including a 15 minute training. Volunteers should also be willing and able to knock on approximately 50 doors.
First time or apprehensive volunteers will have the opportunity to go out in pairs.
