Webb out as VP, but...

Good morning, RK!  Several weeks ago, you may recall that I was hoping/predicting that our U. S. Senator Jim Webb would become Barack Obama's vice-presidential running mate as illustrated in this May 23, 2008 WSLS TV Channel 10 newscast:

However, as we all now know, Jim Webb has decided to remove himself from consideration as a possible VP candidate, and this is the July 7 Channel 10 newscast about that decision:

With or without Jim Webb on the national Barack Obama presidential ticket, let's make the best of this situation - turn lemons into lemonade - by joining with Webb to ensure that Obama wins here in Virginia.
Although I still believe that Jim Webb was the best possible VP choice for the Obama presidential ticket, now we can work directly with Webb on our home turf in a more focused way in order to deliver Virginia to Obama in November.

I have no doubt that Jim Webb will campaign avidly for Barack Obama for President and for Mark Warner for U. S. Senate, and I look forward to working with all of them to make sure that Virginia goes BLUE this year.

Thanks!

Steve
