As TPM notes, "We now count three House Republicans who have continued to peddle the myth that China is working with Cuba to drill for oil in the Gulf of Mexico, even though Dick Cheney had already admitted it was bunk."

To put it mildly, Virgil Goode is not exactly the sharpest tool in the Congressional shed.  Which is why it's long past time for a change in the 5th CD.  Go Tom Perriello!

That's some company Virgil's keeping (Ron1 - 6/27/2008 3:59:50 PM)
as per usual.

Crazy Jean Schmidt from Ohio, and the idiotic Sam Graves of Missouri (he of the second most hilarious Republican ad of the cycle so far, behind John Cornyn's, umm, homage).

The thing is, they just go out and lie. And they are almost never called on it by the corporate media. And they almost always get away with it. I guess the only response is immediate and loud denunciation by the citizen press, 'cause the establishment tools won't do it.

This kinda reminds me... (Craig - 6/28/2008 12:02:11 AM)
...of the lie I used to hear back in 2003 that Syria was holding onto Saddam's WMDs.  Not a shred of evidence, but my ex-girlfriend's right-wing dad said it like it was gospel.

Perriello is great ... (A Siegel - 6/27/2008 4:41:33 PM)
this is clearly Energy Smart Tom vs Energy Dumb Virgil.
