Al Gore will finally endorse Barack Obama in Detroit tonight.
Al Gore says he is backing Barack Obama and will do whatever he can to help him get to the White House. In a letter to be e-mailed to Obama supporters, Gore says Obama has united a movement over the past year and a half. The former vice president also asks for donations to help fund Obama's effort _ the first time he's asked members of his Web site AlGore.com to contribute to a political campaign. Gore is one of the most popular figures in the Democratic Party, but he kept a low profile in the primary campaign. He's planning to appear with Obama at a rally in Detroit Monday night.
Thank you, Al Gore! This is welcome news and will certainly help as Obama continues his drive to unify the party.

Al Gore's Endorsement of Obama (ch_citizen - 6/17/2008 1:14:47 PM)
In his endorsement of Obama, Al Gore reminded the American people that the Republican Party once called John F. Kennedy inexperienced, and mocked them for applying the same criticism to Obama; except that those Republicans were right!  It was a very inexperienced and immature JFK who sent "advisors" to Vietnam, then expanded that involvement in combat troops.  It was JFK who launched the ill-advised, reckless and poorly executed invasion of the Bay of Pigs (Cuba) and an unstable Kennedy who very nearly got a large portion of the US blown to Kingdom Come by playing nuclear chess with the Soviets.  Thanks Al.
