Are You a Woman, and Considering Backing McCain?

Are you a woman who supported Hillary Clinton's historic run for the Presidency?  Are you so angry that you're willing to consider voting for John McCain as a means of expressing that rage?  While the disappointment is understandable and expected, this might make you change your mind:

I would take a look at this first if I were you:
http://blog.washingtonpost.com...

The articles opens like this:
"Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.) will not return the $300,000 raised by a Texas Republican who joked in 1990 that women should submit to rape and "enjoy it.""

Whoops, there goes that part of the electorate, huh?  But wait, there's more!
"Williams, who told the Midland Reporter-Telegram that he had already raised $300,000 for the presumptive GOP nominee, also said at the time that when it came to campaigning against Richards, he would "head her and hoof her and drag her through the dirt" like a cow on his ranch."

Yeah, this is just the kind of guy angry women should vote for.  They pushed to elect the first woman president ever... so let's elect a guy who has no problem taking money from an obvious and noted misogynist.  Cause that makes tons of sense, right?

Oh, Claytie. (spotter - 6/15/2008 7:08:52 AM)
I can't believe this guy is still around, and has crawled out from under his rock.  We just need to get rid of the Texas influence in our national politics.  Too many rocks, too many people like Claytie.  And no Molly Ivins to point them out.

Not Hardly (kathstack - 6/15/2008 7:50:56 PM)
Let me do my rif for you: I consider Republicans the people who have George Bush, and Dick Cheney and the rest of this loathsome administration's back. So I do not care how polite they are, or how kind to their aged parents, or how successful in breeding winsome blonde moppets. I would not vote for a one of them for dogcatcher.

As for McCain, Mr. Flip-flop is more disgusting than most, a phony patriot who votes for policies that weaken our country and harm our veterans.

So the answer to your question is: no, no matter how annoyed I might get with the Democrats--and they are a group that can generate annoyance--I will not vote for John McCain.
