Frederick must keep his promise to constituents

From yesterday's Potomac News:

I would like to offer my personal congratulations to Del. Jeffrey M. Frederick, R-Woodbridge, on his election to the chairmanship of the Virginia Republican Party.

He ran a successful campaign for this position that was noted across the commonwealth and the nation by its negative attacks and outright lies - and that's according to several Congressional district Republican chairs and other Republican elected officials.

Virginia should expect more of this type of negative campaigning throughout the rest of this year and into 2009. Not that we should be surprised, Delegate Frederick has been willing to say and do anything to get elected to office and to further his own personal ambition since he first ran for office.

A case in point occurred a few weeks ago - Jeff stated that he will not seek re-election to represent the 52nd District in 2009, in order to win a few more votes in his race to be the head of the Republican Party. He cited that this would be an apparent conflict of interest.

I wonder what his constituents think now that Jeff will be focused on running the Virginia Republican Party. If his oath to represent the residents of Prince William County as a delegate was a conflict of interest a few weeks ago, how will they feel during the special session of the General Assembly that will be focused on solving our transportation crisis in a few weeks?

Will Jeff continue to vote against any bill that would fund our transportation system?

Will Jeff look out for the interests of Prince William County or will he look out for the interests of the Virginia Republican Party - which has continually moved to the far-right wing of the national Republican Party in the past few years?

Or will he do the right thing and resign his seat to allow Prince William County residents to select a new delegate who can represent us and work to solve the traffic crisis facing our county?

If Delegate Frederick truly has the best interests of his constituents at heart and not his own personal ambition, he will resign so Prince William County residents will receive the representation in Richmond they deserve.

These pictures are hysterical!

The first one makes him look stoned AND drunk!  The second one, for some reason, just reminds me of the Pink Panter youtube!

LOL....thanks Lowell....

PS  I think Jeff needs to invest in a nice pair of eyebrow tweezers!
