Webb's Tattoos

As Sen. Webb makes the rounds on his new book, he's been laughing it up with many a host regarding his tattoos. Two he could show us, one, he apparently can't.

In his new book "A Time to Fight" he says:

"It's pretty safe to say that I am the only person in the history of Virginia to be elected to statewide office with a union card, two Purple Hearts, and three tattoos..."

So the question is, what are his tattoos? And the one we can't see, where is it?! Consider this both a fun RK contest, but also a call to anyone with the real inside scoop.

that his other one says:

I'm so cool, sheep count me to fall asleep!

that or:

Bad motherf*cker!

Just guessing the obvious... (Randy Klear - 6/8/2008 9:37:37 PM)
that one of them is a globe and anchor with the letters "USMC" above or below it.

was the weekly guest on NPR's comedy news quiz Wait Wait Don't Tell Me (npr.org/waitwait) this week. He said if he was in his swimsuit you would see two of his tattoos. That gives you a fair idea of where the third is located...

I don't know about tattoos, but his books are fantastic. (mikuleck - 6/8/2008 11:26:01 PM)
I'll cross post a diary I wrote on daily Kos about them.

Agreed. I've read all the novels and am making my way through (Catzmaw - 6/9/2008 10:42:11 AM)
the most recent one.  Full of good stuff and great observations.

Loved your web site.  I don't understand it, but it looks pretty cool.

Thanks! Be glad to answer any questions you have. n/t (mikuleck - 6/9/2008 12:19:39 PM)

I'm saying at least one is a representation of the USMC's (Catzmaw - 6/9/2008 2:11:07 PM)
Devil Dog mascot, possibly with "USMC" in a ribbon across it.  As for the secret, hidden, tattoo, for some reason it brings to mind Secretary of State (?) George Schultz, whom I distinctly remember was found to have a tiger tattoo on his rear end as he was a Clemson grad.  This was about 30 years ago and important personages did not admit to having tattoos back then.  Caused quite a stir.

George Schultz went to Princeton, whose mascot is also a tiger. n/t (Randy Klear - 6/9/2008 8:10:11 PM)

Oops, my bad (Catzmaw - 6/10/2008 11:49:23 AM)
Hmm, that's what I get for relying on my aging memory instead of googling it.  Clemson rhymes with Princeton.  Seems I had a senior moment.
