Sorry folks, but I'm turned off by the negative campaigning of both Connolly and Byrne.  My response:  Let's boycot the primary election.

I would recommend (Eric - 6/6/2008 10:35:17 AM)
instead that you participate and vote for one of the other candidates.  Doug and Lori are both options if you're looking for alternate types of campaigning.

I'd never discourage voting - even if things get ugly - because at the end of the day one of these four will be our candidate (and likely next Representative) regardless of what was said or how.  Don't you want a say in that person?

I agree with Eric. (Lowell - 6/6/2008 12:28:48 PM)
There are four candidates, I'm sure you can find one you feel comfortable voting for.

Vote For Leslie (Ben - 6/6/2008 12:56:21 PM)
The only thing "negative" she is doing is taking Gerry's poor governing style to the people.  Everyone deserves to know what a pile of turds he is, so they don't send him to Congress.

What is Byrne's non-Internet media like? (Randy Klear - 6/6/2008 3:59:51 PM)
In 2005 in Hampton Roads we were subjected to almost 3 months of one negative TV ad, the one with the Bolling bobblehead doll and stuff about his ties to the insurance industry. About the third week of October they put out a slightly edited version with a brief endorsement from Mark Warner, but there was no real pro-Byrne TV advertising at all.

The weekend before the election, I finally ran into a positive Byrne ad -- on radio. And it turned out to be paid for by a third party PAC.

All in all, I didn't think Leslie did a very good job of putting her own best foot forward when she ran for LG. Is her advertising this time saying anything about her, or is it all anti-Connolly?
