The great foreshadow (Alter of Freedom - 6/1/2008 4:15:06 PM)
Dodd plants the seed for what will undoubtedly be fields for great foul crying by the masses, but the likihood of Obama winning the popular vote but losing the Electoral College is very, very real. He actually could win it by millions. But again, it does'nt in the system matter if he gets a million new registered first time voters if they are voting in states like CA, OR, WA, NY etc that are gonna give him the electoral votes anyway.  My guess is Obama may be in 40-45% at least everywhere unlike say Kerry who got like 30% in places.

So, Obama may have to argue-lite about Clinton view about winning, potentially, the Dem primary popular vote but losing the delegate count.

The only foreshadowing .... (TMSKI - 6/2/2008 6:39:35 AM)
going on is the fact that the Clintonistas don't own the Democratic Party. Thank God for that ... or better still the Obama Campaign.

Obama is where he is (about to clinch the nomination)  for many reasons not the least of which is that team Obama beat the Clintons (not just Hillary) at their own game. He has inspired millions and collected $ millions along the way. If the Clinton campaign had not gone "kitchen sink" crazy this race wouldn't have been close.

If Hillary wants to help the party her opportunity awaits .... some time come mid-June. If she does that well (exit gracefully) ... the Democrats could sweep the nation. If she does not ... I think Obama will still win this thing given a good Vice President pick.

One thing for sure.... the Democratic Party is not the same and the change coming is for the better.

little in referene to my point TMSKI (Alter of Freedom - 6/2/2008 8:51:56 AM)
The foreshadow was the arguement concerning popular votes cast at the polls. The Primary if CLinton does win more and then Obama in the Fall. His team must tred lightly and tactfully because whatever they use to dismiss Clintons view can come back at then in November two fold.

The Clintons... (TMSKI - 6/4/2008 6:40:00 AM)
it's all about the Clintons. They have to be handled gently, deftly .... what is it that they want? Let's be careful about this because we don't want there to be a backlash. Now or in the fall with voters.

Yes I understand all of this .... but I reject any conciliation to team Clinton beyond what is customary (helping with her campaign debt?? To me ... as an Obama donor that's even questionable). They really don't deserve to be treated any differently then the other primary candidates have been.

In fact, Hillary survived to the end for one reason only .... her campaign was willing to go NEGATIVE early and OFTEN. She and her team campaigned like Rovian Republicans. So, YES there are many different ways she could still be a spoiler. After all the Clintons are consummate careerist .... having parlayed the last Presidency into $100M plus in income ... there is plenty of incentive for her to somehow still be in the game ... have a seat at the table.

This is really where the Super Delegates can act for the good of the party and the nomination process. By this week's end ... June 15th ... whatever the best date is ... I sincerely hope the remaining uncommitted Super Ds send a strong message to camp Clinton that it's high time ... TO GET OUT OF THE WAY. GET OFF THE STAGE .... Because apparently she hasn't figured out on her own as to how to leave Gracefully!!
