Enough already! (TurnPWBlue - 5/20/2008 10:57:58 AM)
Doesn't the Chairman have anything better to do with the Supervisors' legislative time?  Aren't there other pressing issues the County needs to address?  Of course, those more mundane issues (like schools and roads and economic development) don't garner the local, state, national, and international media attention he's gotten on the immigration issue.

From a practical perspective, though, shouldn't at least a few weeks pass between "tweaks" to the county's immigration enforcement policies?  Wouldn't it be useful to give one change a chance to take effect and show results (or lackthereof) before mucking around again?  Or is that the point?  So long as enforcement parameters are a moving target, Stewart can look like he's doing something while tying everyone else up in confusion.  As Benjamin Franklin stated so well, never confuse motion with action.

This will continue until... (Lowell - 5/20/2008 11:22:17 AM)
...the people of Prince William County clearly tell Corey Stewart that they want him to change direction.  So far, I haven't seen that.

You're correct, Lowell (pmcmscot - 5/20/2008 11:31:17 AM)
Sadly, we won't have that opportunity again for another 3 1/2 years. He'll do a lot of damage in that time. Bush's second term was bad enough; now I have to suffer through Corey Stewart's.

So much for his 7 votes... (TurnPWBlue - 5/20/2008 4:38:58 PM)
Stewart apparently has tabled presenting his amendments today.

At least one Supervisor had no idea what Corey's proposal would look like.  That would lead me to believe that Stewart was exaggerating a bit when he claimed he had support (and 7 votes).  I wonder how many of the Supervisors he really talked to.

Corey won't stop (Teddy - 5/20/2008 1:35:37 PM)
in my opinion until either 1) he gets promoted to a bigger position of potential power within the Republican Party (the whole objective of his machinations) or 2) he creates so much anger and hostility he gets himself and the County embroiled in a horrendous lawsuit, maybe even extended violence. Although I do not know the little twerp, He is exactly the type that seems to crave being the center of attention, and delights in manipulating other people into irrational and abrasive behavior... then sits back and says "who, me?" He has a soul brother up in the Oval Office.
