According to the State Board of Elections, in the 4th State Senate district, Ryan McDougle (R) has defeated Roger Cavendish (D) 81%-19%, with 97% of precincts reporting.  That one was Bill Bolling's seat, plus McDougle represented the 97th House District--which includes parts of Caroline and Spotsylvania--for two terms, so the result's not exactly a surprise.  Meanwhile in the 3rd State House district, Dan Bowling (D) has trounced Shea Cook (R) 60%-28%, with 98% of precincts reporting.  That one also isn't a surprise, as Bowling (pictured above) replaced a fellow Democrat, Jackie Stump, who stepped down for health reasons after 16 years in the House of Delegates representing the district.
