Barack Obama has always drawn large crowds, but this is truly incredible -- 75,000 people in Portland, Oregon earlier today.

He really is energizing people and generating political interest at a level we haven't seen in this country for forty years.

ABC/News8 shows their true colors and reports this as 65,000 (snolan - 5/19/2008 8:17:13 AM)
Once again the corporate owned media are subtly trying to downplay Obama's appeal...

Funny thing, even with only 65,000 it is still a freakin' HUGE crowd.

Rock on Obama!

The Decemberists (my favorite group) played at the rally!

Yeah, see... (tsmith - 5/21/2008 3:05:07 PM)
I would have called that "75,000 for the Decemberists." A good bit of political theater.

65,000 is right... (RFKdem - 5/19/2008 9:58:09 AM)
There were 65,000 inside the fences, PLUS 15,000 outside the fences.  That's what I've read in most news reports.

That makes 80,000... n/t (Ingrid - 5/19/2008 11:43:55 AM)

Anything in the Washington Post (Teddy - 5/19/2008 2:06:30 PM)
about the Oregon Rally for Obama? Any photos? Any comments?

Nothing in the print edition . . . (JPTERP - 5/19/2008 2:24:35 PM)
Its online presidential campaign blog front-paged a story yesterday.  The print edition had a front page story above the fold regarding the lobbyist resignations in McCain's campaign -- there was also a front page story about the intra-party Democratic primary fight (e.g. looking at the implications post primary).
