DEAR MR.GOV.KAINE,                                      I HAVE THIS DESIRE TO BE A PRODUCTIVE CITIZEN OF VIRGINIA.BUT THERE IS ONE THING THAT HOLDS ME BACK.MY PAST AS A UNLAWFUL PERSON.BUT IN 1996 I TRIED TO KEEP THINGS IN LINE.EXCEPT FOR A VOILATION IN 2000 IT HAS BEEN OUTSTANDING. I'M A FATHER OF 5 AND I WANT TO BE MORE THAN A UNCOUNTED NUMBER WHEN IT COMES TO VOTING FOR MY CHILDRENS FUTURE.WHAT DO I DO .PLEASE HELP ME

While the law needs to be expanded to include (Catzmaw - 4/29/2008 4:33:01 PM)
other categories of felonies, at this time it is possible for a non-violent felon to obtain restoration of rights.

Unfortunately the law does not yet provide for restoration of the rights of those convicted of violent felonies, drug distribution, or election fraud.  All other non-violent felonies are covered by the law.
