Today's endorsement comes from Senator Jeff Bingaman (D-NM).
Here's why Senator Bingaman is endorsing Barack Obama:

"Our nation faces a daunting number of critical challenges: reasserting America's leadership in the world, meeting our needs for energy independence, addressing global warming, making healthcare accessible and affordable, positioning our economy to effectively compete globally, and extricating ourselves from the war in Iraq, to name a few," Bingaman wrote in his endorsement announcement. "To make progress, we must rise above the partisanship and the issues that divide us to find common ground. We must move the country in a dramatically new direction."

Great endorsement today, Obama is now leading in Senate endorsements with 14 Senators supporting him. There are still 18 Senators who have not endorsed, let's hope that changes soon.

Wimpy Leadership (Matt H - 4/29/2008 1:40:55 PM)
It's hard to believe that politicians who usually are never at a loss for words or opinions can stay uncommitted in the choice between Clinton or Obama.

It's sad that so many would prefer to wait for the winds to die down before making public their own conclusions, so as to offend the fewest cronies possible.

Though an ardent Obama supporter (and state delegate), I respect open Clinton supporters to the "no-nothing," sideline types any day of the week (or weak).
