In Memory of Danny Federici

OK, this has nothing to do with Virginia politics, and really nothing to do with politics in general (except that Bruce Springsteen is a working class hero/populist-progressive who has endorsed Barack Obama for president). Here's the sad news from Bruce Springsteen's website:

Danny Federici, for 40 years the E Street Band's organist and keyboard player, died this afternoon, April 17, 2008 at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center in New York City after a three year battle with melanoma.

The Federici family and the E Street family request that, in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the Danny Federici Melanoma Fund. A web site for the Fund is being established and we'll post its link when it is on line.

Now, in tribute to Danny Federici, see the "flip" for some videos demonstrating what made him so great, and why he will be so missed by this Springsteen fan.

Rest in peace music man.

His gifts will continue to give as long as his music is alive.

Thanks for putting this up Lowell (bladerunner - 4/19/2008 10:01:04 PM)
Federici was the man on the board. He'll be missed by the  music community and all that knew him.
