Twas the night before Christmas (Raising Kaine version)

Twas the night before Christmas when all through Virginia,
Not a creature was stirring, (not even Jerry Kilgore)
Richmond was prepping for inauguration with care
With the knowledge that soon, Tim Kaine would be there

The voters were nestled all snug in their beds
While visions of progress danced in their heads
With Lowell still up writing, and Josh leading our fight
We could settle in peacefully for the long winter's night

Then out from the window, we heard a great sound,
The Congress was still filibustering, with chants all around,
Halt ANWR, Halt Patriot Act, Halt cuts for the poor
No longer will we take you abusing the War

The call of progress was heard all around
With new Democratic ideals finally abound
When, what to my wondering eyes did appear
But the sight of the people no longer living in fear

With a little old blog, so smart and so quick
A progressive revolution is no longer a trick
They came and they fought, all brave souls they are
And the readers they shout their names from afar

Thank you Lowell, and Josh, and Teddy too
Thank you Kenton, and Sam, and Mary, we love you
Thank you Rob, and Brian, and even Dan F.,
Thank you Corey, Nicole, Conaway, Steve, and the rest

So many have contributed, and so many have cared
So many have read us, so many we've scared
With Cheney, and Rummy, and Condi, and George
Will fall Allen, Jo Ann Davis, Virgil Goode, and Randy Forbes

We'll challenge them all, and they'll explode from within
With progressive, strong candidates poised for the win
With O'Donnell, Ashe, Hurst, Weed, and the others
We'll fight the best fight, and we'll do it as brothers

United for the future, to turn Virginia blue
A future so bright, for me and you
To all who have read us, all who give insight
Have a very Merry Christmas, and to all a good night

I'm "and the rest," just like the professor and Mary Ann on Gilligan's island the first season.  Which means I may get named next season.

And yes, us liberals like Christmas and Jesus as much as the next guy.

Liberals saying Chri (vatars - 4/4/2006 11:30:40 PM)
Liberals saying Christmas!?

No way!

Great story!

Wonderful job, Dan!

The Raising Kaine version is way better the traditional.
