Democratic State Senator Creigh Deeds has conceded to Republican Bob McDonnell in the Attorney General's Race.  The AP has the story.

"Deeds called McDonnell and congratulated him on the victory after preliminary recount results showed he could not overcome the margin. Deeds spokesman Mark Bergman said final numbers still were being tallied."

The Washington Post covers the story as well.

Ditto Matt and Jen.  And even more evindnce of ensuring a paper trail.  Although it appears the the 3-judge panel would not have allowed rechecking the paper trail anyway.

I hope we have all learned at least one very very very important lesson from this race – EVERY VOTE MATTERS!

I have heard little (I.Publius - 4/4/2006 11:30:37 PM)
I have heard little that's not good about McDonnell, and have heard many people from both sides of the aisle praise his integrity and dedication.

Here's to hoping that people like Chris learn that the AG's office has very little to do with law enforcement.

I have heard little good about McDonnell.  Here's to hoping that he enforces ALL the laws, not just the ones he wants.

Yea, I think Deed should of won. Republicans are overruling the government.

I all ways like McDonnell's name, reminds me of ronald mcdonald.

Good luck J.C. Wilmo (CR UVa - 4/4/2006 11:30:37 PM)
Good luck J.C. Wilmore.  For the moment, Tim Kaine is the one at the greatest disadvantage, needing to out-Mark-Warner Mark Warner if he wants to appear as the "moderate" he claims to be.

Well, at least we get to spend the next four years making McDonnell's life a living hell.

Yeh, not to happy ab (Corey - 4/4/2006 11:30:37 PM)
Yeh, not to happy about it.  More so at what I/we did on election day, if we could have only gotten a handful more people to the polls on election day (literally).

Ideally Creigh would have won the AG race, but he still comes out ahead following the election and will make a great statewide candidate in the future.  I have much admiration for him.
